About Us
The Dublin Singers is the Community Chorus of Dublin, Ohio. Since 1996, the group has provided an opportunity for singers beyond high school age who enjoy singing a wide variety of choral music – sacred, classical, popular, show tunes and folk music – to perform for the mutual benefit of their fellow singers and the community of Dublin. The Dublin Singers, individuals who are drawn and bound together by a common love of music and an uncommon desire to perform professionally while retaining individual professions, have one common goal: to make and share beautiful music.
The Dublin Singers present two major performances each year: Our Christmas concert, presented at the beginning of December, is an hour in length and includes sacred and secular music of the season. There is an admission charge for this performance. Our Spring Show includes a wide range of popular music, some choreography, as well as costume and set changes. The Spring Show is generally two hours in length including intermission. There is an admission charge for this performance as well.
In addition, The Dublin Singers perform shorter concerts at a number of various community events in the greater Columbus area. They are also available to perform at private functions for a fee, depending on the availability of the director and members.

The Director

Mary Fran Cassidy is the Founder and Director of The Dublin Singers. She says, "I can't ever remember a time when I didn't sing and play the piano. Both of my parents sang, my mom was my first piano teacher and my dad was my first voice teacher and choral conductor coach. My brother and I sang together, with my mom accompanying and my dad coaching, from the time I was five until I left home. Until he died, my dad was always my best coach and my best critic."

Professionally, Mary Fran graduated from Silver Lake College with a BA in English and Music and pursued graduate work in music at Silver Lake, Kent State and Penn State Universities. She had the good fortune to participate in workshops with Fred Waring, Norman Luboff, Paul Salamunovich, John Rutter and Robert Shaw. As a longtime member of the American Choral Directors Association and The Ohio Choral Directors Association, she attends annual conferences and has had the privilege of continuing education with the likes of Weston Noble and Dale Warland. She served on the board of Ohio Choral Directors Association as Community Chorus Chairperson, regional representative, and secretary. Before founding The Dublin Singers in 1996, Mary Fran was a member of The Cambridge Singers of Ohio from 1975 until 1997, and served as director from 1980-1997. In addition, she was a church choir director for over fifteen years. In addition to conducting, Mary Fran is a composer and arranger.
